Red Clover
Trifolium pratense
Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western folk medicine have used this plant as a diuretic, a cough expectorant, and an alterative. Red clover is considered beneficial for chronic conditions, particularly those afflicting the skin.
- MENOPAUSE - Modern research has revealed that red clover also contains high amounts of isoflavones, such as genistein, which have weak estrogen-like properties - thus may help alleviate menopausal symptoms. Recent research indicates that the isoflavones found in red clover have a protective effect on cardiovascular health through the menopause.
- CELL PROTECTION (Prostate) - Recent research suggests that based on current scientific evidence, isoflavones from red clover extract appear to be a suitable alternative treatment for prostate health. Studies suggest that dietary supplementation with red clover isoflavones may provide a non-toxic dietary treatment for prostatic hyperplasia with a concomitant reduction in the potential for development of prostate cancer.
- RESPIRATORY SUPPORT - Red clover has expectorant and anti-spasmodic effects making this an ideal remedy for the treatment of coughs and bronchitis.
- SKIN TONIC - Red clover is one of the most useful remedies for skin problems particularly ECZEMA. As an alterative herb, red clover is helpful for promoting the skin's healing process.
