Organics and children
PRESS ENQUIRY
Hi, I am a freelance journalist who is writing a piece for Organic Life magazine. I'm looking for expert quotes and comments regarding organic/natural clothes for babies and young children. With regard to nutrition, I would very much like quotes on the impact of chemicals in babies milk and food. Again, what are the alternatives, why does it affect children?
You - of course - would be credited with the quotes, and your website details would also be included.
Please let me know if you can assist.

Here is my quote for you, Kathleen.
Babies and children have sensitive skins, lungs, digestive and immunity systems. They are more susceptible to outside forces that affect everyone's wellbeing, whatever the person's age. Expose a young child to flu bugs, and they are more likely to get sick than a standard grown-up. Expose a young child to synthetic pesticides, and their immunity will be lowered.
This is pure science. Synthetic pesticides are designed to be so poisonous that they kill the most successful creatures on Earth. Insects can survive most things, even nuclear disaster. So you can see that pesticides are intended to be seriously lethal chemicals.
Pesticides are generally used in combination with each other to target a full spectrum of crop pests. So by the time a non-organic product gets to someone's child, it is likely to contain or be coated with several of these highly toxic synthetic poisons.
While individual pesticides are tested in labs, the different combinations of pesticides on the products in your kitchen are likely to remain untested. We all know that mixing chemicals can produce very different effects than one chemical on its own. Likewise, the cocktail of chemicals on each item in your kitchen is likely to make the total effect of these poisons more toxic than each pesticide on its own.
The only way you can be absolutely certain that the things you buy are not polluted with synthetic pesticides is by choosing organic products. This is why organicfoodee.com is so passionate about organic food and organic lifestyle products. This is why the British public is committed to organics, whatever their lifestyle.
Of course, avoiding pesticides is just one small part of the total organic picture. There are just so many benefits. If you and your family eat dairy or meat products, going organic has never been more essential to safeguard you and your family's health. Intensively-reared dairy cows and farm animals are fed a dangerous cocktail of anti-biotics, growth promoting drugs, anti-parasite drugs and many other medicines on a daily basis, whether they have an illness or not. These drugs are passed directly onto the consumers of their dairy produce or meat. And with organic milk and baby milk compounds practically the same price as non-organic ones, it seems essential to me that parents choose organic for their kids.
