Hi Ysanne,
I would like to know if there’s any special storage conditions we have to follow for organic foods. And, are the expiry dates for organic products shorter than non organic food?
Thank you for your information!

Hi Rozana,
Yes, organic food often has a shorter shelf life than non-organic food, because it doesn’t contain all the nasty chemical preservatives that often keeps non-organic food artificially fresh for longer.
Keep all fresh organic produce in the fridge, except tomatoes, as they lose their texture if they’re not kept at room temperature.
Always keep organically-farmed meat, poultry, fish and dairy products in the fridge.
Because with organic food, you know that it’s fresh because, well, it’s fresh!
Best wishes

Hi,
Great website!
Read the post this morning on how long organic food lasts – we have lots of customers who say that our organic veg lasts much longer than supermarket organic and “conventional” produce. Also, a lot will keep very well in paper bags in a nice dark , cool garage or shed – espccially the harder, root veg – giving you lots of lovely space in your frdige for the softer, leafier and more perishable items.
Sorry to go on, but we find that one of the really important and valued things we can do for our customers is to help them to store the produce so they get the most out of it – so many people are not used to doing so – that way they get the best out of thier veg box. If you can give people storage advice via your web site – that’s great!!
