Can you tell me if all organic meat is produced humanely i.e. not intensively farmed. I have been eating organic meat for a while now but have a friend who says organic just means no antibiotics not free range. Also I try to buy british meat where possible but do other countries have different or weaker organic policies as I have noticed supermakets often have organic meat from South America.

All organic meat is automatically also free-range by law. Also, all food
products sold as organic in the UK have to comply with at least minimum UK
legal requirements, wherever they’ve been made. Supermarkets are more likely
to sell organic meat from South America simply because its cheaper to
produce. But it is still organic to UK standards. Take a look at local
British organic meat suppliers who can sell you their products direct,
thereby supporting British farms and also cutting down food miles. Please
check out our Where to Shop guide for some suggestions, and also our Links
page.
